Accio Broadway! For the past couple of years I’ve been wanting to go to NYC for a weekend to see @cursedchildus on Broadway and hit up some of my favorite spots. So this past weekend that’s exactly what my hubby and I did as a belated birthday celebration for me <3 Of course, as with any trip, I researched how to get discounted tickets. I read something on reddit about a ticket lottery through the @todaytix. The person didn’t get the lottery, but still got offered a great discount on tickets… which ended up being orchestra seats! So I downloaded the app and registered for the Friday Forty ticket lottery for The Cursed Child. The EXACT same thing happened to me. I didn’t get the lottery tix for $40, but got offered tickets for $62 each, with the caveat that I wouldn’t find out where my seats were until an hour before the show. And GUESS WHAT. We got a pair of seats in Orchestra Row F! I couldn’t have asked for any better. (Especially considering that the cheapest balcony tickets I could have gotten were minimum $95.) As for the show? It was everything I dreamed it could be and then some. The special effects that made the magical elements were just incredible. The dueling, the charms, the Black Lake, the dementors… even my husband (who has never been to any live theater) LOVED it. Plus there are fun interactive things to do around the theater, including VR patronuses, house banner photo opps, custom themed drinks… If you are a Harry Potter fan, you HAVE TO go see The Cursed Child on Broadway. It is also traveling to Chicago (September - February), Los Angeles (February - June), and Washington DC (starting July 2025). #harrypotter #thecursedchild #broadway #welcometony #welcometonewyork #nyc #Manhattan #newyorkny #visitnyc #ravenclaw #iloveny #todaytix #bucketlist #potterhead #broadwayshow

Calling all animal lovers, vegans, plant-based folks, and environmental activists - you have to check out @farmsanctuary in Watkins Glen, NY. I was invited to tour the property recently and was amazed at the work they are doing. Schedule a tour for yourself to learn more about their mission and meet several of the nearly 500 rescued animals. You can even spend the night in one of their cabins or tiny homes. They also host two large events every year - the Hoe Down in August and the Celebration for the Turkeys in November.

Let’s TACO ‘BOUT the wonderful start to my birthday celebrations at @madisoncountydistillery last weekend! When Marissa first reached out to invite me to the distillery, I was ecstatic. I’d been meaning to visit for ages, so I made plans to go last Saturday and I was thoroughly impressed with the entire experience. Located in Cazenovia, NY, Madison County Distillery is a family- and veteran-owned business. Marissa, her father “the General”, her siblings, and their cousin Chris (the distiller) run the operations together. Currently they produce 3 spirits: Route 20 Rum, Stone Quarry Vodka, and General’s Gin - all named after local landmarks and people. We were able to sample them on their own as well as in cocktails. They offer both gin and vodka cocktail flights, so we had one of each. The Honey Gin Spritz was my favorite. 🍯 As for the food, they are well-known for their taco options. So much so that they won an award from @eatlocalnewyork for having the best tacos around! The best way to order them is through the taco flight, of course. It comes with EIGHT TACOS, so is definitely meant to be shared. Ours was a mix of chicken, beef, pork, veggie, and fish. Believe it or not, the fish taco was my favorite! 🌮 The apps and desserts also lived up the hype. The candied bacon and brie bites were delightful. While I enjoyed the key lime pie, chocolate chip cookie sundaes are one of my absolute favorite desserts - and this one was perfectly warm and gooey. 🍪 The large barn has a large bar, an event room upstairs, and extensive outdoor seating - perfect for live music in the summer. Have you been to @madisoncountydistillery? What did you think?

Day 5 of Wandercuse Week means it’s time to search for the last clue! “This last location was once a ghost, But now two buildings are its host. Go to the one above the ground, Just don’t get lost going round and round. Choose something savory or something sweet, Either way you’re in for a treat. The flavors rotate all the time- Each so delicious it should be a crime. One by one, you must try them all, Better than their competitor in the mall.” * Monday’s prize has STILL not been found - so if you know where it is, go get it! As a reminder, to celebrate the 2nd Annual Wandercuse Local Bash, I’ve partnered with 5 of my favorite local businesses to hide prizes around town. Each morning this week I’m releasing a clue to lead you to one of the locations. Figure out the clue, visit the business, and be the first to find the prize to win! Each prize is a metal stemless wine glass containing a Wandercuse passport and a gift card to the location where it is hidden. It gets better - Bring your prize to the local bash at Freight Yard Brewing on Sunday, May 5th for some FREE treats from the food trucks. A few rules to follow: - No purchases are necessary to find the prizes. (Though you are encouraged to support the businesses you visit!) - Each person can only claim ONE prize during Wandercuse Week. - To claim the prize, bring the cup to an employee to receive the passport and gift card. - Winners must post a PUBLIC photo of their prize on Facebook when they find it, tagging Wandercuse AND the business where it is hidden.
