You will find tasting notes for over 300 whiskies.   It includes whisky from all around the world including  India, USA, South Africa and Europe.  I love experimenting with food, whisky and other spirits and regularly cook and make boozy grown-up desserts for my friends.

I play around with cocktails and try fun whisky and food pairings that are easy to try at home.  If you want to learn more about whisky or want to pair whisky with food, this is the place for you.

Ardbeg 10 vs Lagavulin 16 yo whisky comparison

Today I look at another battle of big Islay malts; Ardbeg 10 vs Lagavulin 16 yo whisky. When you mention Islay whisky, one of the first drams that come to mind is the Lagavulin 16 yo whisky. When John and I first tasted the Lagavulin 16 yo whisky, we looked at each other and frowned. In the blind tasting, against the Ardbeg 10 yo whisky, the difference was even more evident.

The Capital Gin Small Batch WhiskyBrother&Co Gin Review and Tasting Notes

Something different this week; I capture my tasting notes for the Capital Gin Small Batch gin. In 2020, WhiskyBrother&Co asked them to experiment with some recipes for an exclusive Capital Gin Small Batch WB release gin. Review and Tasting notes for the Capital Gin Small Batch WB release gin PALATE The Capital Gin small batch WB release is a smooth, delicious gin.

Glenglassaugh Evolution Whisky Review and Tasting Notes

The first whisky I tried was the first release of the series, the Revival release. Today it is time for the second release in the series, the Glenglassaugh Evolution single malt whisky. Review and tasting notes for the Glenglassaugh Evolution single malt whisky NOSE: Delicious sweetness with white grapes, green grass, cinnamon and vanilla. Looking back at the Glenglassaugh Revival release I tasted a year ago, my tasting notes were pretty similar for that release, just to peppery.

Talisker Skye Single Malt Whisky Review and Tasting Notes

However, I need to expand my tasting notes from this Scottish Island distillery, so today, I am trying the Talisker Skye Single malt whisky. Review and tasting notes for the Talisker Skye Single Malt whisky NOSE: It is not a bad whisky, but it is difficult not to compare this release to the Talisker 10 yo whisky. The 10 yo whisky is easier drinking, more complex and smoother than the Skye.
