Recently, we’ve been witnessing an uptick in scams and fraud, seeking to milk the demand for homes during this high travel season, especially when people don’t want to vacation with other families in hotels. Stories of double bookings, losing reservations, canceled reservations mere days before the Passover holiday commences are coming to a head this week as potentially thousands of vacationing Orthodox Jews are heading down to Orlando with no place to stay. Families are finding out that after they’ve shipped food down and/or arrived in Orlando, that the home they think they’ve rented is not available to them. According to YWN, more than 200 of these cases are currently unfolding for this Passover season, which could easily put thousands of Jews in a really tough spot merely days before the holiday begins.

These restrictions will remain in place on weekends: Thursday – Sunday through April 12th. Only those with proof of residency, with hotel reservations, or business employees will be able to use the MacArthur and Tuttle Causeways during shutdown hours. All restaurants, bars and businesses must adhere to the curfew by closing by 8pm. It is important to note that business and restaurants north of Miami Beach, including Surfside, Sunny Isles Beach, North Miami Beach, Avenura, and further north are not affected by these restrictions, but they may be extra packed during these times.

The first kosher Israeli restaurant has opened in the UAE, following a massive uptick in kosher options due to the Israel-UAE normalization last year. The new restaurant is called Mul Hayam, and offers authentic Israeli cuisine with gorgeous water views. The restaurant’s location on the water offers spectacular views and a great photo op. Its location is between two public beaches and adjacent to a marina with private boats and nice views of the city.
