There is a need to pay extra attention to every detail, most especially the essential documents that you need for your trip. • The Amazing Mighty Mac!

The Mackinac Bridge sits over the Straits of Mackinac, serving as a “separator” between two of our beloved lakes: The Golden Gate bridge sits over the San Francisco bay and connects San Francisco to Marin County, creating easier access to and from SF. A point worth mentioning in favor of the Golden Gate bridge is that it’s pedestrian friendly. In the winter, the Mackinac Bridge looks amazing behind a vastitude of blue ice — a Michigan winter phenomenon.

  • What is spring equinox?

We are putting the winter days behind us, waking up to more light, more warmth, new ideas and new dreams. It’s the perfect time to welcome the life force living in your body. As the darkness diminishes and the light increases you may feel a building of imaginative and creative energy, perhaps a lifting of the fog and a dropping of the sleepy blanket that you have been curled up in for the past few months of winter. Just as the world turns on its axis and brings about the return of the light turn after turn, we can rely on the return of our own light & energy and richness of our internal garden.

Seven Traditional Irish Foods To Taste In Ireland

Whether you will be traveling in Ireland someday or are looking for a hearty stew to serve on St. Patrick’s Day, guest blogger Lianne, who writes about Ireland travel at My Discover Ireland, shares seven traditional Irish foods worth tasting. Recipes vary from home to home in Dublin, but the staple of every coddle remains the same: sausage, bacon (or rashers as it’s called in Ireland), lentils, onion, and potatoes. Try this traditional Irish dish at home with the boxty recipe from Real Irish Food: All seven of the authentic Irish dishes that Lianne shared sound delicious and comforting to me, and I enjoyed the Irish soda bread and Guinness stew that I ate in Ireland.

  • Grand Island Ice Caves

Yesterday in celebration of my 10K followers on Instagram I posted a video of Grand Island’s lavish summer beauty. Today I give you a picture of my snowmobile trip to the island last winter. There’s a calculated risk in many of the winter time adventures around our great lakes. Listen to locals and authorities and people who know the area best about any dangers or places to avoid.

  • Splashing into the weekend like…

In Ojibwe Michigami, or Ininwewi-gichigami, Lake Michigan is the only one of the Great Lakes entirely within the borders of the United States; the others are shared with Canada. It has a surface area of 22,300 square miles (58,000 km2),making it the largest lake entirely within one country by surface area (Lake Baikal, in Russia, is larger by water volume), and the fifth largest lake in the world. The first Europeans to see Lake Michigan were French traders and explorers in the 1600’s, one of which called Lake Michigan the Grand Lac.

  • Cross-country skiing tips.

Cross-country skiing (also known as Nordic skiing) is great because it can be done in many parks, golf courses and resorts and don’t require purchasing expensive lift tickets. This year, maybe because of the pandemic, I’ve had many people ask me about skiing, cross-country skiing and other snow sports. I’m going to focus on the three of the most basic and recognized types of cross-country skis: – Classic or touring skis: made for use in groomed trails using a forward and back striding technique almost like you’re walking/running on skis. They are  beefier and shorter than classic skis to allow for more stability and flotation in deeper snow, and they often have metal edges for better grip in icy condition and better maneuverability in difficult terrain.
