  • An OOTD & Updates to Prior Posts

    Wine Bar Rocky River features a 24-bottle Enomatic wine serving system that samples some really incredible, higher-end wines by the glass that will taste just fresh as those served right out of a new bottle. Wanting to remain coatless, I opted for a chunky, Italian space-dye turtleneck sweater from Banana Republic paired with my favorite Cali demi-boot jeans from Madewell. I now use it on my whole face (not just the t-zone) and, as mentioned in the original post, still have quite a bit of pink for about 20 minutes post-application but it always goes away right after that. * Dart is only available for use on items currently available at the time you are placing your order.

  • How to Plan an Awesome Trip in 16 Easy-to-Follow Steps

    This one won't really apply if you're planning a domestic vacation, but an important thing many people don't think about during the planning stages of an international trip is to make sure you know what you need to actually enter a foreign country. If you're traveling somewhere where you need to apply for a visa in advance, the time to do that is after you know your exact travel dates (which is usually after you book your flights). I generally don't book accommodation right away after booking my flights – unless I know that I want to stay in a very specific place that might book up. For train tickets and ferries, you'll need to do some research into whether these are things you need to pre-book, or whether you can just purchase tickets on the day you need them.

    last consistently yet, This weekend we plan to start swapping some of our cold-weather décor for lighter and brighter warmer month options. Enjoy welcoming in spring this weekend and know that, no matter how challenging your current situation may be, brighter days are often ahead.

  • Shakshuka: A Taste of North Africa

    It’s a wonderfully comforting and flavorful dish of poached eggs in a base of tomatoes, onions, peppers, and spices. * 1 28-ounce can whole San Marzano plum tomatoes with liquid, coarsely chopped Heat oven to 375. • 6 Reasons to Plan a Desert Vacation in the United States This Year

    Desert travel is popular in other countries (I'm thinking of places like Morocco or Chile or Mongolia where you might plan a trip just to visit some of the great deserts of the world), but not many people think of the United States as a desert vacation destination. These deserts cover parts of states out west like Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, California, Nevada, Idaho, and even parts of Oregon and Wyoming. Using a couple of my past trips as examples (and especially my past trips to Scottsdale in the Sonoran Desert in southern Arizona), I'm going to share with you all the reasons why you might actually want to book that desert vacation after all! In Scottsdale, you could plan a chilled-out, art-focused getaway with a stay at a wellness resort, or you could plan an adventurous trip filled with hot air ballooning, mountain biking, driving an ATV, kayaking alongside wild horses, and going to raucous rodeos at night.

    Black History Inventors-Mini Booklets {Printable}

    As I look at my children and they’ve seen so much this last year, I know how important it is to not only learn our history year-round but to also make sure what our children aren’t getting in school we are providing them with it at home! If you have children that love to read, find the books from Black Authors also have them listen to books read by Black Authors (we did a lot of that last month …the kids really enjoyed Netflix Jr on YouTube showcasing Black Authors), if you have children that love to draw, create projects centered around prominent Black people from our history. My children are still in the booklet-making phases, they make them in school for different things and they will make them at home for different topics!

    Staycation at the Graduate Hotel Columbus

    My family has always loved a quick road trip and hotel stay, its actually something we have been doing since we first got together and our children have enjoyed since they were little! Prior to COVID one of the things we loved doing as a family is taking a quick road trip and doing a quick staycation in a nearby city! If you have been following my family and me for a while, you know we love sports, and staying at the Graduate Hotel Columbus was a great experience! I definitely felt like we picked a great location to stay at for our overnight staycation, and I can’t wait to stay at some of the other Graduate Hotel locations!

  • January and February 2021 Travel and Blogging Recap

    I don't know what things are like in your neck of the woods right now, but in mine I feel like things are finally starting to look up. I felt like a giant weight was lifted in January – and yes, I'm sure it definitely had something to do with a little event that took place on January 20, coupled with vaccines starting to roll out in earnest. While I technically was away for 15 days in the last 2 months, I was mostly indoors and not out actually “traveling.” January and February on the blog(s) I don't want to jinx it, but traffic on my main site has been starting to pick up again! I've also finally felt motivated to write and work again after my time away from home, and hope to start hitting my goal of publishing one new post a week again.

  • Putting Top-Selling Amazon Beauty Products to the Test

    * Effective at evening skin tone, brightening skin, and lighten sun spots, particularly when used daily and consistently. As some people noted it could be drying, I followed the mask with a layer of this Ahava Hydration Mask, an overnight product that you put on with a thin layer remaining on your skin so that it absorbs overnight. While I wouldn’t consider it a miracle treatment at this point, my skin does feel soft, smooth, clean, and a bit de-gunked. I think the next time I’ll apply a slightly thinner layer to see if I can get the clay completely dry.
