Almost 2 million visitors from across the country and the world come to the Black Hills region of South Dakota every year to visit this National Memorial. In response, in 1939, Sioux Chief Henry Standing Bear instructed sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski to carve the Crazy Horse Memorial as a memorial to the Sioux Nation. From late May to mid August, the ceremony is held at 9 pm and from mid August to September 30 at 8 pm. The Visitor Center opens from 8 am to 5 pm (until 10 pm from May to August) and only closes on Christmas Day.

For all the impressive rock formations, the main attraction at Arches National Park is without a doubt Delicate Arch. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is spread between Universal Studios where you can find London and Diagon Alley and Universal Islands of Adventures which house Hogsmeade. Part of the fun at Diagon Alley is to explore the different shops: stop at Quality Quidditch Supplies for brooms and other Quidditch apparel; You will find parchment, quills and other stationery at Scribbulus. You can find Butterbeer in 4 forms (regular, hot, frozen, and as an ice-cream flavor) at several locations throughout Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. Once you’re done visiting Diagon Alley, go back to London and make your way to King’s Cross Station to board the Hogwarts Express.

Upon learning that they were using interactive wands, I vowed to look into these special wands before our next trip to the parks. You can buy a wand at Ollivander’s (keep reading for more about this) in Diagon Alley, Dervish and Banges or the Owl Post in Hogsmeade. At each of these locations, you’ll find an assortment of wands, from replicas of Harry, Ron, Hermione and other characters’ wands to more generic wands shaped from various woods. Each wand comes with a double-sided map of Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade detailing the locations of the spells which I will review below.

No matter how long you have at Bryce Canyon National Park, you should definitely do the Queen’s Garden/Navajo Loop hike.
