Gay travel can be an awkward topic for many, mostly because to be lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ) is really to be a part of an incredibly diverse group of people. There are gay families who travel, solo gay travelers (like myself), solo lesbian travelers, ones who travel for gay pride or nightlife or honeymoons, those that take gay cruises or splurge on luxury holidays, and ones who rough it camping and backpacking in faraway places.

An indoor art exhibition in Vancouver that's on now

Finding inside events during these times can be quite difficult to say the least, but our city is lucky enough to be hosting an exhibition of 200 Van Gogh paintings that you can actually go see right now! Imagine Van Gogh is taking place at the Convention Centre until August 29, 2021 and is a contactless experience with limited capacity, timed entries, and operating in full accordance with British Columbia’s public health guidelines. Filling 25,000 square feet with 8 meter high walls (a meter higher than most of the previous cities got when they hosted the exhibit) this immersive exhibition displays giant projections of more than 200 of the famous Dutch artist the first filled with hanging placards that went into detail on the life and works of Van Gogh, and the second filled with the changing/moving giant projection of his art which fully covered the floor and walls.

  • 2020 Recap: Garden Projects

The pandemic paused life as we know it, taking away a lot of the freedom we once took for granted, and forcing us to adjust our lives to a new way of doing things including constant lockdowns and social distancing. During the pandemic, my family’s economic situation hasn’t really changed for the worst. I know this article is about our garden DIY projects but I’ve decided to include a small portion about the trips we were able to take in 2020. Alfred and I took a trip to France at the end of December and spent New Year’s Eve in Paris at Open Bar.
