I finished updating my favorite t-shirt patterns blog post and realized that I had left out a few patterns that I really love. I don’t actually make it the way the pattern shows, but it’s a really good base for what I want a good tee to look like. There is one very small adjustment I make to the shoulder length (which I did to the black shirt, and the pink striped shirt), and you can read about it in this blog post. Many of these are made in my favorite types of fabrics for t-shirts, and you can read all about them in this blog post.

But one day, Dallas was cooking some chicken with his brand new button up shirt that I had just made him, and some of the grease was popping onto his clothes. I used the Avery Apron from Sew a Little Seam (free with her newsletter subscription) for Braden’s apron, and then for Dallas’ and mine After I finished making the kitchen aprons, Dallas really wanted a shop apron for when he does projects in the garage (read: If you give your husband a cooking apron…he’ll probably want a shop apron to go with it. I remembered that I had some black twill canvas fabric that I thrifted in Santa Barbara, and Dallas really wanted cool topstitching.

so we pulled out our bucket of Perler Beads this weekend to make some fun St. Patrick's Day crafts with the kids. Every time we end up making Perler Bead designs the bucket of beads stays out for a long time and the kids have fun playing with them and creating. I enjoy coming up with designs we can make for different seasons, holidays, or themes, so I really wanted to make some St. Patrick's Day themed designs. These include a 4 leaf clover, a rainbow, the end of the rainbow, a pot of gold, a leprechaun hat, and an Irish Flag.

Using the Cricut Mug Press, sublimation mugs, and Infusible Ink you can make professional quality mugs at home. You can use any mugs that are made for sublimation (they have a coating that allows the ink to bind to the surface of the mug) as long as they are straight sides and between 11-16 oz. I had a fun time just sitting and painting the rocks with different designs by myself, but this would be a fun activity for kids too, or for a group activity. My girls had a very fun time painting their rocks and the paint pens were a lot easier and less messy then when we have used paints and paintbrushes to paint rocks. Then when I had all of the stripes or sections of color I added the details like thinner lines and dots. Either way worked, I think the base color works best if you are using a lighter color, or if you are adding smaller details rather than large sections of color.

I haven’t been to the thrift store very much since the pandemic started, so when I found these, I didn’t realize that I wouldn’t be able to try them on. I got to browsing YouTube and found this video on how to take-in the waist on jeans, and it was exactly what I needed! In the video I watched, I think the woman is actually fixing really nice jeans (with flat felled seams), but these jeans are on the cheap side, so to finish the seam I just had to press the seam to one side and topstitch. I got a little distracted at the beginning (thanks children) and unpicked the wrong belt loop, and then one of my serger needles broke when I was serging the seam – but other than that, it went pretty smoothly!

Hibiscus Flower Tea Easter is on April 4th this year I love painting and decorating eggs for Easter and this year decided to do something natural to dye them blue. This cute and glittery resin keychain is the perfect pinch-proof accessory for St. Patricks day, or year round to make those keys unique. Pour the mixed resin into the mold, but only to fill up half of the mold. Carefully lift up the mold and check the beads from the other side to make sure they read LUCKY in the correct way. Then use the jewelry pliers to open the jump ring and slide the tassel, resin and keychain hardware on, then close the jump ring.
