  • More Pedestrianised Roads, A New Outdoor Venue In King’s Cross, & Other Restaurant News

A strong contender for ‘restaurants we’d like to live in’, Quality Chop House is now cooking a full menu every day, from Wednesday to Saturday, both for delivery and collection. , it’ll be simple, it’ll start at 2pm, and it’ll finish when they run out of chicken, chips, and salad. Legendary London oyster bar Bentley’s has launched a new delivery service, Mr. Oyster Boy.

  • 5 Pubs With Outdoor Seating & Outstanding Food To Book Now

The Compton Arms is a little boozer-cum-gastropub off of Upper Street that used to be frequented by miserable Arsenal fans and is now frequented by miserable Arsenal fans plus those seeking very good food from Four Legs in the kitchen. Just like its south London siblings the Anchor & Hope and the Canton Arms, The Clarence Tavern is an excellent gastropub. The Bull & Last is easily the best gastropub around the Heath (though if you’re just looking for a pint and a pork bap, The Southampton Arms is down the road) and its menu of gastropub favourites is hard to resist. So whether you’re enjoying a rabbit and smoked ham lasagne - the food here is a touch European and a touch British - or a plate of peach and stracciatella combined with a pint, you’ll be fed, watered, and under cover.

  • 6 Scenic Walks In NYC (And What To Eat Nearby)

Think of this as the path of least resistance to bacon-topped pizza near a lake, lobster rolls by the water, and birria tacos overlooking the Manhattan skyline. Daily Provisions also has excellent sandwich options chicken milanese with a perfectly-fried cutlet on fresh focaccia, and a club with juicy rotisserie chicken, thick bacon, and avocado. This new-ish park in Long Island City runs along the East River and offers incredible views of the Manhattan skyline. Once you make your way back into Ridgewood proper, walk over to Rolo’s, a counter-service spot serving great sandwich options like grilled porchetta with spicy broccoli rabe, fluffy grape and olive focaccia, and homemade coconut lime sorbet.

  • The Infatuation

Before the pandemic, Wheated was a neighborhood gem serving excellent Neapolitan pies, fresh meatball calzones, and whiskey cocktails in Kensington. Wheated still serves the same great pies named after Brooklyn neighborhoods like Ditmas Park and Vinegar Hill, but unfortunately they’ve hit pause on the excellent calzones. Our favorite pie is the "Brighton Beach," which comes topped with several slabs of crispy bacon, garlic, and black pepper - it’s like carbonara pasta on thin and crunchy crust. This pizza place also serves fresh sourdough baguettes, cookies, and premade whiskey cocktails from its takeout window every Wednesday through Sunday, so we recommend stopping by before your next picnic in Prospect Park.

  • The Infatuation

While many restaurants have started selling groceries during the pandemic, Rolo’s has taken the concept to a whole new level. This neighborhood spot in Ridgewood, created by four friends who met while working together at Gramercy Tavern, is part restaurant and part gourmet grocery store. On the restaurant side, Rolo’s offers weekly dinner packages for takeout and delivery, including a rotating menu of things like baked lobster pasta, double cheeseburgers, roasted chicken, and cauliflower salad.
