5 Fashion Pieces You Should Always Have in Your Closet

I find all the best blazers at my local thrift stores, but stores like H&M and ASOS have had pretty nice ones lately. We all laughed at that infamous picture of the Rock wearing that black turtleneck, chain and fanny pack, but look what’s trendy in fashion now? I’ve worn turtleneck clothing virtually all seasons, so don’t worry about packing it up after the cool months end. I’ve walked past loads of coats in thrift stores, but I left them behind because they weren’t me.

The Black Hair Experience You Need to Pull Up To

The Black Hair Experience”, a pop-up in Atlanta dedicated to black hair. From a “hot comb kitchen” to a wall full of “Black Hair” and “Hype Hair” magazines, these two women clearly did a lot of research for this pop-up! Other highlights of the pop-up included the magazine wall, full of covers of magazines I definitely flipped through when I was getting my hair done while I was younger, a headwrap wall and a brown background saying that “BLACK HAIR IS ART”. It’s evident from the moment you walk in that Brooks and Austin-Davis really took their time designing and hearing stories from black women to create this pop-up.

Easy Two Ingredient Flaxseed Gel for Smooth Sleek Hair

and while it doesn’t involve a lot of ingredients, it is still packed with nourishment for the hair AND still does an excellent job at providing shine, definition and hold (without any crunchiness). I have a few videos and posts about other FSG recipes that are more intricate and involve a lot more ingredients here and even a protein FSG to make a strengthening Gel). They also include more details about the benefits of using FSG for the hair (you know I have to give props to the fact that this gel is ALL natural, doesn’t include any chemicals and actually provides nourishment to the hair)! FSG has a relatively short shelf life in general and should ALWAYS be stored in the fridge, especially since I don’t use preservatives, nor do I add ingredients that help to extend the shelf life in this particular recipe (to keep it simple).

DIY Frozen Henna Bars (updated recipe)

While they are natural and a healthy addition to incorporate into your hair routine (providing strength, shine and so much more, with henna being a great natural way to add a red/reddish orange undertone to the hair) it is always best to be informed. If you have black or dark hair, you will notice a subtle red undertone to the hair which is more noticeable under direct sunlight (not really visible indoors). If you have light brown hair, you will notice a reddish brown undertone to your hair and if you are blond, you definitely will get an orange tint to your hair. For grays and white hair, you will get a golden orange/fiery orange tone to your hair.

A Local’s Guide: 4 “Social Distance Friendly” Places In New York City to Visit

A great way to spend your day in N would be taking a trip to one of the many museums around the city, one in holds both an extensive history of art, film and culture, while providing the experience of lifetime, (I’ve been twice so far); located in Midtown Manhattan, accessible by the E, and M to Fifth Avenue and 53 Street or the B, D, F or M to a quick walk will bring you a plethora of art and creative inspiration housed under one roof, other than Friday’s General Admission for adults is , while children 16 and under are free.

  • How To Make Double Denim Cool

I’m sure everybody has also heard those “fashion rules” about not wearing white after labor day and not wearing double denim. A look like this could still be pulled off with dark jeans and a dark jacket, a light denim shirt and a dark denim skirt, or any other combination. The point of this step is to realize that double denim doesn’t mean a denim shirt, jeans and that’s it. The cheetah print pairs well with the white shirt I wore and also the light color of the jeans I wore.

    Feeling Is ... Art

Not by trade, or by the title - see, the artist in me is , and aching for the type of success any young creative dreams of, to be seen, and heard, and have their art speak for themselves. I've learned a few things about choosing a creative field that has no guidelines, or instruction manual, no safety net tucked securely underneath me or even a backup plan. Choosing to be an artist at this age isn't surprising to anyone anymore, its the status quo, to be authentically you in a world like this, is a blessing in disguise. When you are an artist; you have chosen to show the world; just how beautiful it is, how mesmerizing and special being on this plane of existence makes you feel, you did it.

    Loving Someone With Anxiety

I didn’t realize that talking about my anxiety as an adult would mean I’d eventually end up also talking about love in the same sentence. I know saying that as the first thing you should know about loving someone who’s anxious might be a little scary, but it’s not. Anxious people need to know when they just aren’t getting it, overthinking, and need a change. I’m not denying that, and my anxious but loving people out there need to know they deserve love, despite what you think about yourself or others.

    It's Okay To Feel Insecure

Happiness to me is being so aware of your insecurities, your inner voice, and where you are in life that nothing anyone says bothers you anymore. n’t think I was pretty enough to post on my own Instagram or just take random selfies when I felt happy or good about myself. Here’s to sleepless nights and too much coffee and a room filled with books with creased over edges. This is the first day of the making sure your energy and your passions and your creativity are seen.

Be Kind To Everyone You Meet

It was the fact that I couldn’t quite articulate to the person sharing their concern about my nervousness, that my anxiety isn’t just selective to presentations or speaking to others, it’s an all-encompassing rollercoaster ride of feelings that won’t seem to let me get off. A disorder or illness is something generalized by particular traits that doctors use to classify one disorder from another; but how a person reacts to it and deals with it, is a case by case dealing — For me, it’s a feeling like the world is going to end if I don’t make it to a job interview in time, or even having crying spells before I go outside, ordering food at a restaurant, or even acknowledging the cashier in the check out line without any verbal communication but eye contact. Some of my usual responses would have been: Being able to understand that anxiety is how my body reacts to situations of stress, duress, pressure, and even basic communication has helped me figure out how to handle interactions in my daily life with care, and in a way that doesn’t trigger stress, or make me feel like I’m a bug under constant heat and pressure.
