A Jersey girl, gluten free in Tennessee. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 1999. I enjoy posting home cooked and restaurant meals as well as product reviews. I currently live in Nashville, but enjoy posting food from my travels!
When I was back in the North East for a week over the summer, I took full advantage of @wegmans! Did you know they offer gluten free bread and can make made to order sandwiches gluten free? I’ve never been able to have something like this before, so I was pumped! Upon telling them I needed gluten free bread, they changed gloves, placed protective paper down and used fresh ingredients and utensils! They even asked if I wanted my sandwich toasted. When I said yes, they wrapped it completely in paper and also lined the toaster tray - to avoid cross contact! I was very impressed with how they handled this and had no issues. And remember, this could vary from location to location so please make sure you state your needs before ordering. It also helps to go at an off time so the employees have time to take extra precautions 🤗
✨Mangia Italian Feast✨ Back again for @mangianashville’s Italian Feast, summer edition! This time celebrating my birthday, with my Mom who was in town visiting from New Jersey! Absolutely everything at Mangia’s Italian Feast can be made gluten free 👏🏻. Every single reservation for Friday and Saturday night feats has sold out, so plan ahead if you’re visiting Nashville 👀 The focaccia is to die for but that short rib bolognese is 🤌🏻. It’s truly so hard to pick a dish. This time around, I enjoyed trying the homemade Lemoncello as well as the Peach Billini Tiramisu! #mangia #mangianashville
Naturally gluten free meals are my favorite! Been cooking a lot more at home and most of the time, my plates aren’t picture worthy - but this one was (or so I thought)! I’ve been using my @georgeforemanco smokeless grill A TON, mainly because it’s been so hot outside and who wants to stand in front of a grill in this TN heat? I grilled up some asparagus and seasoned them with salt, pepper, garlic powder and lemon juice. The @butcher_box salmon was also grilled, and marinated in @sanjtamari soy sauce, honey and ginger. And then whipped up some mashed potatoes courtesy of my @instantpotofficial. What’s your favorite easy dinner?
✨GLUTEN FREE AT @SIXTYVINES ✨ Eating at @sixtyvinesnashville gluten free is the easiest ever! So much of the menu is naturally gluten free or it can be altered to be gluten free easily! One of the owners has celiac so they are knowledgeable when it comes to celiac safe protocols 👏🏻 Their cauliflower pizza is quite honestly my favorite ever, - you would have zero idea it’s 1) gluten free and 2) cauliflower! In addition, they also have gluten free pasta, delicious veggie sides and some main plates that can be made gluten free, not to mention a huge wine list 👀🍷🍕🍝🌶🥦 Food featured: •spicy sausage pizza •charred broccolini •hummus platter w cauliflower flatbread •crispy zucchini •blistered shishito peppers •margherita pizza Have you been to Sixty Vines yet?
Happy #wingwednesday! 🍗 A few weeks ago I got to spend some time in the @wegmans capitol of the world and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute! We had a Wegmans catering order for wings and got half BBQ and half Garlic Parmesan. They were absolutely perfect and enjoyed by all 👏🏻 An additional shout out to the fam for always have tons of gluten free options for me at any family gathering 🤗
Celebrating #fryday with some homemade air fryer sweet potato fries. I dipped them in some garlic aioli. What’s your favorite dipping sauce? I’ve really been enjoying my instant pot air fryer lid. It takes up less space since it uses the same appliance and I was able to sell my old air fryer. Yay for more room in those cabinets 👏🏻
@canyonglutenfree is one of my favorite brands of gluten free bread. As someone with celiac disease for 23 years now, I’ve tried all the breads on the market and can truly say Canyon is the best. I was thrilled to see they finally came out with burger buns! These buns are a great size and can hold up even with the weight of all my toppings. Best part? They don’t crumble and they don’t need to be heated or warmed. They’re perfect right out of the package 👏🏻 Have you tried the new @canyonbakehouse burger buns yet? What’s your favorite product? 🍔 #ad
@chivanada is one of the most gluten free friendly food trucks in town! Everything is gluten free and the empanadas are the absolute best! Before the pandemic, I would eat them rather frequently at Street Eats on Thursdays downtown. But then we started working from home and I never got down there for lunch. Unfortunately our in office days are not on Thursdays now, so I was thrilled to find them at @musicianscorner a few weeks ago! I got one sweet and one savory one, which I highly recommend if you can’t choose! The chocolate and Gouda was the absolute perfect flavor combo and the beef empanadas were delicious! Make sure you grab some yucca fries and some buñuelos (Colombian hush puppies) because they’re incredible 👏🏻
Have you been to @thebuttermilkranch yet? A hip new spot in 12 South open for brunch! They have an amazing number of gluten free options, items naturally gluten free and items that can be altered gluten free! It was a pleasure to meet Chef Alyssa and talk with her and Jonathan about everything The Butter Milk Ranch has to offer! Each dish was absolutely incredible, jam packed with tons of flavor and truly a work of art! Have you been to The Butter Milk Ranch yet? What’s your favorite dish? Food featured: •Watermelon and Arugula Salad •Corned Beef Hash Skillet •Dirty South Fried Rice •Chef Alyssa Special (not on menu) •House Made Focaccia Sandwich •Gruyère and Chive French Omelette •Assortment of gf desserts (Chocolate Chunk Cookie, Little Deborah, Key Lime Pie Cookie, Mocha Cheesecake, Lemon Poppy Cake, Black Forest Cake, Pecan Caramel Cake)
Over the weekend I made some Mexican street corn! I typically prefer elote on the cob, but it was much easier to bring as a side dish to a family bbq off the cob! This was so incredibly easy to make. In fact the hardest part was finding the cotija cheese. I had to go to two separate stores. I took the liberty of cooking the red onions instead of throwing them in raw and I think it came out absolutely perfect! I topped with cilantro before bringing to our bbq! Do you like elote? Have you ever made it at home? 🌽
