Mirror mirror on the wall! Let's talk about AFFIRMATIONS! Something as simple as "I can …" or "I am …" can help your LO keep their cool when struggling or having a hard time with something.  I started affirmations with Mila when she was a little over a year old. It started out as a part of our bedtime routine + quickly became a part of our everyday lives - practicing both when things were getting tough + during neutral times when she was calm and seemingly receptive. I introduced it first by saying them to her. Then, we worked on saying them together, first having her repeat them, then through call + response. Now, she can say them independently with no help from me.  I am a big girl. I can do anything. I am brave/safe/strong/loved.  These are the 6 affirmations that we say daily to keep her self-confidence + self-love in check. First thing in the morning, while playing games, helping with chores, right before bed, watching TV, in the middle of a meltdown, or while driving in the car - it does not matter the time or the place - we're going to get them in.  Although she's only 2 (soon to be 3), she must understand the power of always speaking positivity into her life. I never want her to feel like she [can't]. The more I empower her + continue to help her create positive beliefs in herself, the harder it will be for outside forces to tear her down as she gets older. After two months + 29 days, Bean is officially back in school! 🙌🏾 It was time. It's been a good little while since I last washed baby girl's hair with everything we've got going on. The move meant no transferring of liquids, which meant having an excuse to purchase new goodies + I'm always looking for products that help make #washday as easy as possible.  I was super excited to try these products - #ogxbeauty Teatree Mint Shampoo and Conditioner. For Mila, it was the perfect burst of freshness needed to get through our routine. Unstructured play while mom + dad unpacks some house goodies.💕 We got our first shipment of house goods (yay). I kind of feel like where we live is actually ours a little bit. Trying to keep Bean preoccupied these days have been ROUGH. We’re stuck trying to ensure we’re not purchasing too many things because all of her stuff is en route.
