The boys had to take at-home COVID tests this week to be allowed back to school in Denmark! I had to give them to the boys, and let’s just say they are not fans of Nurse Mommy! 🙄🙈 These were passed out by the school, since this isn’t something you can just get on your own…from what I know. I had heard that a colleague bought hers for 80dkk, but I don’t know about that. Luckily for my boys, they were both negative!! 🙏 I have to ask myself, “is this the norm for life with corona in Denmark, or just the norm right now?” Have you ever taken an at-home test? It is that time of year again! New Year's Resolution Time!!⁣ ⁣ I know that it might seem somewhat cliché to make New Year's Resolutions, but there is something about starting a new year with a clean slate that appeals to me.⁣ ⁣ I think it is partially the fact that I am no longer surrounded by holiday food and feel that I am in a desperate need to shed a few pounds more than anything! ;)⁣ ⁣ January is just a hopeful month for me. I know that I can choose to change my life at any point in time. Heck, I started going back to eating as a Vegan in September, so I know full well that change can happen at any time.⁣ ⁣ But I really feel that January give me the motivation to do better this year. No more blaming Corona for my bad choices. Living abroad can be a pain when it comes to visiting family. It is just a really long day of traveling, and you never know what could happen. For us, that “thing” was a snow storm! 🙈 The boys are great in the airport, on the planes and during the car/bus ride, but the weather can be a real jerk!🙄 I’m just glad that the boys are big enough to have their own backpacks! Using mom as a pack mule is seriously no fun! 😂 As for the weather…well, there’s nothing I can do but hope for clear skies on our path! 🙏🤞🏼 Did you travel to visit family this holiday season? We love living in central Denmark /Midtjylland! Here, you’ll find a great combination of hills and forests. For us, we like to find fun things to do on our walks in the forests near our home! Summertime can be a nice time for a walk, but we tend to go out all year round. Many people will go out to cut down their Christmas tree and take it home to decorate. Being an American, that just seems so late for me, but it is what my Danish husband is used to! 🙈 I have heard that many other Danes will use today as an extra day to get together with family and friends if they have plans with others on the 24th!
