I can't start my story off with "I've loved cooking since I can remember" because thats simply not true. I didn't grow up cooking with my grandma, or on a farm, or always watching cooking shows. I grew up playing computer games and that was my jam!
I really only started cooking when I got married because, well, I had to. We couldn't afford to get take out every night even though I would have loved to.
Starting in 2020, under quarantine with my 18 month old, I found myself cooking a LOT more. Since the playground was closed, I noticed the number of cookbooks I had on my shelves from our wedding that I had never even opened. Someone took the time to create and write down all those recipes and I felt the need to dust them off and start cooking my way through them. Now that I've created a website and youtube channel, I know how much work goes into creating this content.
I started with my 1963 edition of the New McCalls Cookbook that my mother-in-law gave me a few months before she passed away. I thought that was the best place to start. Lots of the recipes you'll find on my Youtube channel and instagram are from that cookbook and others. I have yet to create my own but I hope to some day soon.
