We are about to start the 24-hour countdown to 2022! Times like this make me reflect on the last year. Though a lot of great things happened, and it was WAY better than 2020, I have to admit that I hoped for more in 2021. The main thing I wished for was that this pandemic would be over and we could properly reconnect with loved ones without hesitation. However, the last two weeks in NY have made me question it all. We are at a 22% positivity rate for goodness sake! That means that 1 in every 5 people that get tested for COVID have it! I’m thankful that the virus does not seem to be as dangerous as it once was because 95% of New Yorkers (18+) have gotten the vaccine and booster. However, it is spreading so fast that I wonder what the real solution is here. When will this pandemic end? Will it be several more years? We’re all so tired at this point but it seems to have no sign of stopping…. Anyway, I know this may not be your typical happy NYE post but I’m frustrated and had to express myself. It’s our first Christmas as a family of 3! It’s is also the first time Bella is meeting her new cousin, Ezrah, who is only 12 days old. 👶🏽 @elmundodeluis and I are very lucky because our families get along so well that we’ve done Christmas together for 10 years! Since Luis family is Guatemalan and mine is Irish/German it has always been exciting mixing our cultural traditions. My parents are learning Spanish and Luis parents get to practice their English. Our moms help cook each other’s traditional cuisines. It has been an amazing learning experience that have grown both families in too many ways to count and I’m so thankful for it! I’m continuing the 2021 recap! I posted this photo on February 5th of this year. It was the day Bella arrived and when my life changed forever! Though the first photo was my 8th most liked photo of the year, I never posted the other photos in this carousel. This is the first time I’m showing many of them online! To create these shots, @tinasokolovskaya and I rented a studio when I was about 7 month pregnant. @the_luisito and I made an announcement video on my YouTube channel and we released the photos and videos on Thanksgiving.
