The Camera Graphic

The Camera Graphic is where I express my visual passion (and obsession) with redesigning city transit maps of of the subway trains that run along the rails in NYC, Chicago, Boston, DC and Hong Kong to name a few. Most of the maps (to me at least) are boring, nothing more than a tangled grid of overlapping lines, cluttered with the names of station stops, numbers etc. and set on a multi-colored background that never seems to compliment the existing colors of the map. So - back to the obsession part - I love re-designing these maps in what I like to call a minimalist fashion. Metro maps weren't met to be art, I get that, however, and this is just my opinion, I think they can be turned into art, and so that is what I do. When printed as posters, they can hang on the walls of offices, bedrooms, studios etc - and really resonate with commuters, non-commuters, and people who are simply are attracted to unique decor. My other print collections are graphic illustrations, inspired by my love of mid-century modern, simplicity and color.
