Bathroom Remodel on A Budget

We were not planning on moving, but here we are, and this house needs our magic touch to take it from “house” to “home.”We are going room by room, but also working on major projects and will look at fine details down the road. We have a baby on the way, and there are definitely “priorities” that take precedence over the smaller things!Speaking of small– the bathroom right off of the master bedroom is pretty small itself. Keeping it simple and high in contrast really helped to outline the space and create a depth perception so the walls didn’t feel like they were closing in on us!This post contains affiliate links. sold the old bathroom vanity and light for $150, so in the end we paid $320 plus some additional supplies that are being used throughout the home as we continue the remodeling process!

Tips for Moving with a Toddler

Breaking things down and having smaller short term to do lists helped me stay focused and get more accomplished which is obviously very important as a mother when you have limited time at your disposal!Your game plan also needs to include the things that you will ask for help with. but I knew I had to be flexible and remember that she was confused and a little overwhelmed at times too!A trick that I learned was to give her a pile of things that didn’t actually need to be packed right away and a box. We honestly did not feel like we needed to much help with Raylan during the packing and moving process. Starting the packing process early on and creating a game plan ahead of time helped me to stay on top of things in allowed me to rest when I needed it, take breaks when my little one needed me, and take the added stress of rushing through the process off of my shoulders.

Toddler Transitions

When we found out we were expecting this time, we decided it would be best to transition Raelynn to the larger bedroom, and keep the small room as the nursery. While we know that Zeke won’t be in his crib immediately, we know that his presence will be a transition enough for Raelynn so we decided to start small changes now to prepare for the big change ahead. It was a dark grey and took away the feminine feel of the room, so I decided to do wood paneling on the bottom and wallpaper on the top.

The Simple Mom Blog

When we found out we were expecting this time, we decided it would be best to transition Raelynn to the larger bedroom, and keep the small room as the nursery. I’m happy we started playing in there because when she found out it was her room, her reaction was pure joy and excitement! We kept the walls the same color and decided to change up only the accent wall. Thanks, baby led weaning! She knows which room is which, has started recognizing streets on the way home or to my mom’s house, and will follow 2 step directions (i.e. go get a book from your room and bring it to mommy.”).She’s in love with the outdoors. She will cook pretend food and bring it to me to eat, she plays with her baby (feeds, walks, and bathes her!), and loves sound effects when she’s
