Highlights
  • Celebrate Frederick Douglass & the Underground Railroad in Rochester

But few names have lasted in our history books as predominantly as Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony. Harriet Tubman & the Sewards: A Friendship Made Along the Underground Railroad in Auburn 4: Uncover History at these Underground Railroad Sites in Syracuse 5: Retracing the Footsteps of Frederick Douglass and the Underground Railroad in Rochester If you’d like to learn even more about Frederick Douglass, I highly encourage you to check out Frederick Douglass’s Rochester, a year-long project by Open Mic Rochester and CITY newspaper. They honor the likes of Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony all throughout town.

  • Three Lives Bar in Syracuse: The Coolest Place to Drink & Play Games

Jon Page came up with the idea based on his love of craft drinks and video games. Because there is such a strong focus on the drinks and games, the food menu is pretty simple. Now it’s time to talk about the heart of it all – the games! With the great food, drinks, staff, and overall experience, it’s a must for any local’s date night, happy hour, or late night with friends.

  • Getting TEFL Certified with TEFL Heaven

TESOL courses draw on broader elements of the latter teaching certifications to provide the base for teachers to teach in both non-native English countries and within English-speaking countries. For those open to teaching abroad as well as teaching English at home, TESOL could be a good start. I had no teaching experience and no travel experience in South East Asia where I chose to do my teach abroad experience. The programs are designed for those that have no teaching experience and no travel experience and they support you not just the teaching side of things but also settling down into your country, cultures, and traditions.

  • Maple Weekend in New York Goes Virtual

But while maple weekend in New York is cancelled in person, you can still stock up on syrup and enjoy breakfast at home with virtual programs. It’s that 2% that we use to make into that delicious syrup that tops your pancakes on Sunday morning. After the syrup has reached the proper temperature, it’s time to filter out any sediment. Visitors can check out what’s going on in the sugar shack and sample freshly boiled syrup.

  • Wineries in New York Using Solar Energy Inspire Others to Join Them

That’s why I’ve been so excited to learn about wineries in New York using solar energy. Let’s dive a little deeper into one of the wineries in New York using solar energy. Now, their solar energy system produces 2/3 of the energy the company needs to operate. Wineries are not the only ones in New York using solar energy – breweries are getting greener too!

  • Enjoy the Best Mac & Cheese in Central New York at these Restaurants

The Best Mac and Cheese in Syracuse Just because Beer Belly Deli is located near a college campus doesn’t mean it doesn’t have great food. Plus, they have a great craft beer menu featuring some local favorites. In addition to their spaetzle and German beer, the menu features some other great items. I first fell in love with Mooney’s after my husband raved about it on a work trip to Waverly, NY.

  • Best Things to do in Rincon, Puerto Rico

Rincon has quickly become one of my absolute favorite towns in Puerto Rico for so many reasons – amazing beaches, laid-back surfer style, and a multitude of things to do. Rincon is located on the West side of Puerto Rico where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean Sea about 2 1/2 hours from San Juan and is a beautiful little beach town. There’s a really amazing space above the beach too perfect for watching the surfers at the lighthouse listed below. They can be found daily right near Hotel Villa Cofresi and it’s an easy stop in the morning before the beach.

  • Uncover History at these Underground Railroad Sites in Syracuse

: Harriet Tubman & the Sewards: A Friendship Made Along the Underground Railroad in Auburn 4: Uncover History at these Underground Railroad Sites in Syracuse Both Harriet and Jermain, like John W. Jones, fought for their freedom by escaping along the Underground Railroad. I think I was born with a hatred of oppression, and, too, in my father’s house, I was trained in the anti-slavery ranks, for it was one of the stations on the underground railway, and a home of Therefore it’s no surprise that oral histories and old newspaper clippings state that their home was used as a way station along the Underground Railroad.
