Highlights
  • The Fashion Samaritan

So it’s probably safer to turn back the clock instead of a corner to what feels like a million years ago (in reality September last year) that I was out of the house and exploring the Scottish highlands. Sadly though that adventure had to come to an end with me being dragged back to London weighed down by the despair of returning home to the same four walls I had been staring at for months. Which is exactly how I found this little gem, a location I’d passed by many a time while zooming between London and the Highlands but never stopped as I was always about the destination. But this time was different, the appeal of this monumental building in Lancashire fed my eyes a feast of French architecture that they had been craving for months.

  • The Fashion Samaritan

In these trying times where it feels like we are in and out of lockdown with rules changing day to day, throwing our plans into chaos on top of the stress of just trying to maintain some kind of normality amongst the madness, I find that more than ever I need to go to a certain type of place for my wellbeing – the beach. Just like I’m a kid back home at the beach playing in the waves where my feet can’t touch the ground with nothing on the horizon but the sun. And now as I find myself standing on the shoreline watching the ocean glisten in the light, things truly do come into perspective that do n’t involve things like Prada bags (even though they offer their own unique comfort), and it feels like things are going to get better.

My Experience as a Tasker for TaskRabbit

Also, I work with clients who underestimate the scope of work and refuse to hire more help when necessary. If a Tasker’s metrics fall for not accepting or completing tasks, their profile will begin to lose visibility. Finally, Taskers can add photos of past work to their profile for future potential clients to see. Outside referrals mean more clients, work, and money, so do a good job on all of your tasks.

  • The Future Looks Bright...

and I find myself stuck inside my house with my face illuminated by the screen of my phone as I scroll through photos of the past – 1 year ago, six months ago, hell But I can’t help but feel silly now that we have returned to lockdown that something so fleeting means so much to me both mentally and physically. I guess I still don’t have an answer to my question and probably won’t know what happens now for a while or maybe it is the news of a potential vaccine, but I actually feel like the future looks bright once again just as it did then in that moment on a hill in Scotland… Only this time for all of us.

Craftd London Review & Wish List

My very first purchase from Craftd London includes their Rope Gold Chain, its matching bracelet, and the St. Christopher Gold Pendant. I purchased the Rope Gold Chain in a size 50cm and the bracelet in size 19cm. Yes, Craftd’s Cuban links range from $67 to $107. I could not resist the matching Rope Gold Bracelet and its $34 price.

  • The Fashion Samaritan

Now that the hot summery days have come to an end, I’ve begun to realise that while I have never considered myself a summer person before, something changed this year for me. Maybe it made me feel like nothing had changed and we were all safe or maybe it made me feel like I was just on some never ending holiday filled with bottomless espresso martinis and a uniform of speedos… before I wave it off, pack away my speedos and hang up my light shirts (a blue embroidered Loewe number for this adventure). I’m not really sure how I’ll make it through the winter, I normally revel in coat weather but this one just feels daunting with the uncertainty of not knowing what will happen next.

    Hoodstore Review & Wish List

I first came across Hoodstore on Instagram through a pair of jeans that are part of one of their collections. First assuming HXXD Paris is the official brand, further research tells that it is just the name of one of their collections. I like them because they are a unique pair of the increasingly popular ripped track jeans design. Instead of one side stripe on both legs like Lakenzie Menswear’s track jeans for example (check out my review for them), Hoodstore’s track jeans have two stripes on the legs.

  • The Fashion Samaritan

From a young age we are taught about safety, a simply little notion that we use to shape our lives from our early years until our end. Attractions have reopened, bars have begun serving again, and fashion weeks have restarted just like before but even with all of the new precautions it just doesn’t hit the spot like it used to. Things I took for granted before like touching sandstone walls, smelling summery flowers and taking in a view that wasn’t the length of my corridor all seem like new experiences. And that’s the thing with being safe, you can only take things so far before you have to retreat to familiar territory to reassess the situation and decide what happens next.

  • The Fashion Samaritan

Maybe it’s because I don’t like the camaraderie spirit that we are all in this together or maybe So generally when some mens magazine like GQ plasters some footballer on their cover and tries to sell them off as the new messiah who transcends the sports field and can save all us mere mortals from boring attire simply by placing them in just a towel and a homoerotic pose, my eyes can’t help but roll into the back of my head at a sprinting speed. Maybe it’s just the beautiful tones of photographer Melodie McDaniel’s work, the styling of George Cortina or the stillness of an empty Chateau Marmont that catches the eye. But whatever it is, there is no denying that this shirtless all American male looks just as good on a sports field as he does in a fashion spread.
