Highlights
  • Through the eyes of the apprentice

Now I've heard so many other apprentices complain about using pig skin they say that synthetic skin is a lot easier and that pig skin smells too much (It doesn't if you keep it chilled and use it fresh). " I'll have it in black n grey as colour fades quicker " The greatest one i personally love the most is "I want a small tattoo as it hurts less than a big tattoo" that one always makes me giggle to myself and then there is the Dr's surgery , when you go in for an injection or blood tests the old nurse bringing that big ass injection closer to you and you start panicking and they come out with " don't tell me your scared of needles look how many tattoo's you have " ha ha ha ha. Many many Years ago tattooists used to use a grid system to guide them to price a tattoo now a days to price a tattoo up it goes by factors, these factors usually are by the experience of the tattooist cost of set up and how long it would take and the style of the tattoo.

    Evies 2nd Birthday gift guide

Ok so dolls are a bit creepy…  however, when your two year old starts putting the dogs’ toys in the dog bed, covering them in a tea towel whilst kissing them goodnight, you know its time to buy her a doll. I think dolls are great for little ones, she’s very compassionate and loves tucking her little doll to bed at night. Kelvin and I love the old school toys, songs, TV so any part of our childhood that we can relive through Evie. Evie absolutely loves rocking her new doll in her cradle and tucking her in every night

  • The Luck Factor

Many people have said to me over the years: ‘you’re so lucky you’re naturally slim’. But what they don’t know is I was in a very brutal gymnastics squad from the age of 4 to 10 and once you build so much muscle at a young age, it’s never that hard to build it again. * I didn’t make the part of me that’s competitive and wanted to keep improving and winning at competitions So to relate this to your friend/family member who’s just got a new job or achieved one of their goals, ask yourself these questions: * Where the LUCK comes in: If your friend/family member has not had their break yet, please don’t disregard them for not doing enough or say anything along the lines of ‘you obviously don’t work hard enough’.

My first travel review! – Regnum Carya

Our visit to the Regnum Carya, We decided to visit Turkey this year after much deliberation on what country we were going to visit for our summer holiday, I had always heard mixed reviews on visiting Turkey, but everybody who I have spoken to who has visited before has spoken so highly of it, the wonderful weather, hotels, Turkish people and food. As we were late arriving, we decided to order pizzas to the room, the prices in the room service menu are relatively high, not crazily expensive, but more than you would pay to eat a pizza back home, the pizza was amazing though and the prices on the in room dining menu is understandable in a hotel of this type, I would not have expected it to be cheap. Cleanliness was top priority and efficiency, friendliness and service was also such a very high priority for the staff, they remembered Evie’s name and gave her a lot of attention which is really nice as parents to see, we ate at the a la carte restaurants every night during our stay as Evie is only 21 months we found it easier than being up and down individually at the buffet – which did look incredible with its different themed nights. The Brazilian steakhouse was incredible, there was an additional charge for this restaurant but I would definitely recommend it, its outside and the food and service were incredible.

  • How to eat cheap and healthy

I’ve seen a lot of comments and tweets floating about lately regarding Jamie Oliver’s latest controversy and how increasing the price of junk food will mean that people struggle even more to be able to afford to feed themselves. I’m not delving into personal or individual situations and I totally empathise with people who genuinely can’t afford to put food on the table, but to say that all health food is expensive is a myth that I feel needs to be debunked

    A difficult subject…

I wasn’t sure what I would write this blog about, there are so many things happening for Kelvin and I at the moment that I actually wasn’t sure which topic to base this blog about. I had the morning sickness for 3 days and every time I felt that wave of sickness it took me right back to how I felt when I was pregnant with Evie, waves of nostalgia and also sadness that this time it wasn’t meant to be. It wasn’t the right time and clearly my body knew that something wasn’t quite right. Kelvin has been brilliant, he too was so looking forward to having another baby, but like he says it just wasn’t the right time for us this time.

Deciding to send Evie to nursery…

and you’re trying to get through your little one’s ironing, or you’re lucky enough to get an entire day off and decide to go shopping for yourself, only to arrive home armed with half of the Next kids section, toddler Converse, baby food and NOTHING for yourself. Things like going to the gym, having time to shave my legs in the shower without having to jump out mid-way through to chase a toilet brush wielding Evie down the hallway before she decides to chew it. We came to a resolution to do this not only so we could spend some more time doing the things we liked without being constantly in a rush, but also to spend some more time together as a couple. We chose a nursery called Busy bees, and since I mentioned it in a few posts on Instagram quite a lot of people have contacted me to tell me their little ones are also in Busy bees nurseries and that it’s a really successful national chain (I’ve just Googled it, and there are 344 nationwide! )

  • Til Death Do Us Part: The Finale

Shortly after that, I finally got round to listening/watching The 1975 after meaning to for many, many months and the video for A Change of Heart instantly sparked ideas for a wedding theme and aesthetics for the photos. Clothes: £34.98 (All hail TK Maxx) Wedding Rings: £178 (Etsy) Legal Ceremony: £120 Band: £1150 Photographer: *£650 Hotel for 2 nights: £236 Decor: £309.42 Cake: The song that I walked down the aisle to was called Didi (My Doe) by a band called The Matches. So Cool’ on the front which is song lyrics by The 1975 but is also said in The Great Gatsby, both of which influenced the theme of the wedding.
