The 2021 Windsor Essex Tourism Awards Highlights the Best in the Region

Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island has just announced the winners of the 6th Annual Best of Windsor Essex Awards. Now in its sixth year and with record breaking support by locals, you can see how passionate our residents are of their locals businesses and attractions. We want residents and visitors to be able to use this list as a great way to plan a Staycation in Windsor Essex this year. And we know that Orr agrees as he said publicly about this recent awards that they “struggled with the timing and practicality of offering the Best of Windsor Essex Awards as an opportunity for locals to engage and support their local businesses.

Punta Tombo, Argentina: A Penguin Paradise in Patagonia

Punta Tombo, Argentina is home to the Magellanic Penguin Rookery where visitors can stroll among the largest penguin colony outside of Antarctica. The National Reserve of Punta Tombo the largest penguin colony outside of Antarctica. In fact, there are so many penguins in Punta Tombo that you’ll find yourself strolling along with them on boardwalks or watching from wooden bridges as these elegant creatures waddle their way down what my family dubbed “the penguin superhighway”. If you visit Argentinean Patagonia, spending a day at the Punta Tombo National Penguin Reserve is a must.

This North Channel Cruise From Manitoulin Island Offers A Unique Summer Escape

While many visitors to the island spend their days hiking the famous Cup and Saucer trail, enjoying the fish and chips in Providence Bay, or exploring the scenic lighthouses that dot the coast, those looking for a unique view of the island and surrounding area stop in Little Current at North Channel Tours. The North Channel cruise line is run by Manitoulin Island tour boat company North Channel Tours, and they offer a magnificent selection of Georgian Bay cruises to areas such as the Benjamin Islands, Baie Fine Fjord, and Killarney. The 67 kilometre journey from Little Current to Baie Fine Fjord offered views of Georgian Bay that few people get the opportunity to experience. If you’re looking for something a little less casual, head to the Little Current Hotel and Conference Centre to dine in style at their on-site restaurant.

  • The Best Hike on Korcula, Croatia

After leaving Zrnovo, the scenery along this section of the Korcula hiking trail is amazing, with vineyards, old ruins, rock walls, church towers in the distance, etc. After about a half-mile (800m) of hiking, watch for a small green Kocje sign in the grass, pointing to a trail which veers off to the right. We didn’t find it easy to find our way out of the Kocje valley, but the hiking trail continues to the north, so keep looking, it’s there. This was a great Korcula hiking trail for kids and it kept them interested the whole way, which in turn kept us happy the whole way!

  • Edible Easter Gift Ideas Your Family Will Love

They say the way you show love to others is how you want to be loved in return, and this combo of Carrot Cake + Fine Easter Chocolate reflects my most favourite things on any Easter Sweet Table – baked with love from my adoring heart to your homemade gift in hand. If you’re looking to try a traditional Easter edible from another culture or have Italian friends/loved ones you’d like to gift a homemade treat to that they’ll appreciate deeply, you should try my Papa’s Canascione di Pasqua (Italian Easter Pies) recipe. We served 1/3 of the filling for the Pistachio cannoli & added some Pistachio Cream Spread – available at most Italian specialty food stores, we love our local shop Nonna’s Pantry. While Italians will tell you the best places to “eat Italian” anything is directly from the region that created it (in the case of Cannoli, Sicily), here’s a list to bookmark for when international travel restrictions lift & we can visit Italia Bella again of “Where to Eat the Best Cannoli in Italy”.

  • Things to do in Korcula with Kids

In addition, the Hvar to Korcula ferry was a convenient stop between our 2 days on Hvar with kids and our final Croatia stop where we spent 2 days in Dubrovnik with kids. Sure, we had read about how beautiful the Korcula Old Town is, but normally we look for more than just a beautiful town, we look for fun outdoor activities like hiking or going to the beach. We didn’t know what to expect or exactly what to do in Korcula with our kids, but we ended up having a 2 incredible days in Korcula, Croatia! 5 Things to do in Korcula with Kids Korcula is a small city blessed with an amazing Old Town. We chose this method of getting to Korucla with kids as we didn’t have a rental car and the Krilo ferry offers direct service from Hvar Town to Korcula Old Town.

  • Things to do in Cesky Krumlov with Kids

This old Czech Republic castle was a mighty castle back in the 14-16th centuries, but now lays in ruins. After a fun walk through Old Town, we walked across the Vltava River to the river at the Cesky Krumlov Castle. The Castle Tower is so beautiful from the outside and appears very tall when looking at it from Old Town, but in actual fact, it’s not really that tall. Our 4 year old daughter climbed the Castle Tower by herself with no issues at all, while our 2 year old wanted to be carried.

How to Make the Most of Spring in Ontario

That’s where today’s article comes into play. At Long Last, Ontario’s Spring Has Arrived Before we get into our list, we just want to again remind everyone to experience and appreciate this province responsibly. We’ve got some higher end courses that you’ll really have to break the bank for, but it’s also likely that you’ve got a local golf course right near you that’s just great. And that means that when spring arrives, we should start to think of how we can support local by safely visiting a local farmers market.
