My Top 5 Favorite Running Podcasts

I enjoy listening to podcasts and want to share with you my top 5 favorite running podcasts. I love their stories of everyday life and running, along with their fun ideas for runDisney races! When I saw that Richard started a Facebook group and had a podcast about running , I sent him a message right away. You can also join his Facebook group to share and learn more about running.

  • My new training partner!

We are super close already and it knows a lot of my secrets (like how much I love/hate planks, depending on my mood that day! Anyway, it’s very light so I can move it around all day, but mostly just avoiding its stare when we both know it’s time for a quick workout! Also, I don’t need to pull blankets, yoga mats, yoga blocks, towels, and whatnots so my bones don’t get hurt/chafed/etc like they do when pushed into the wrong surface. This is a huge game-changer for people like me who also don’t like changing clothes to go outside.

5 Things You MUST Spring Clean in 2021

I know it isn’t just our house – the past twelve months have left so many things feeling “ick”, right? Listen, you’re a busy parent juggling virtual school, working from home, keeping up online social connections. In this house, we are fans of trying to be as non-reliant on chemicals as we can be, but let’s be honest – with 6 humans, 2 fur babies, and the occassional frogs, cave crickets, and snails inhabiting our rooms, sometimes we do need to clean with more than water and our elbow grease. We need cleaners ready to tackle these messes, so we’re armed with two stain fighters (Biz and KidsNPets) that help speed up the stain fighting process.

  • I DID A HALF. Like, NOT virtual. TWO RIVERS MARATHON RACE FESTIVAL race recap!!

She decided she needed to run the marathon that she had trained for, so she signed up, said she’d look into the logistics and I could do the half, you know, like Batman and Robin (I am Robin here). It’s in PA, a two hour drive from NYC (more like 3 IRL) and and out and back, a new course for what I heard, of 6.55 M, on the same road. We got bibbed up, met the famous Mark who’d send us crazy funny and long emails and he told us stories of Argentina (menem’s sideburns!) Also, on our way to the start, we stopped at one of the fluid stations (the first one I think) and they all had water and one porta potty, but this is what the fluid station looked like in case you want to drop off your stuff, or don’t know how to decorate it.

  • Browning Breaks Through at Queensland Track Classic

n’t just Browning that impressed at the Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre, with Catriona Bisset (VIC) and Linden Hall (VIC) both running sub 2 minutes in the 800m to each clock their second Tokyo qualifiers. ’s 800m, with Australian record holder Catriona Bisset (VIC, Peter Fortune) and 1500m specialist Linden Hall (VIC) going head-to-head. It was only the third time in Australian history that two athletes have run under 2 minutes in the women’s 800m, with Tamsyn Lewis-Manou and Madeleine Pape both breaking through the barrier at the 2008 Sydney Track Classic, and Lewis-Manou again with Margaret Crowley in the lead up to the Sydney Olympic Games. The men’s event saw Nicholas Hough (VIC, Anthony Benn) and Nicholas Andrews (NSW, Tim O’Neil) go to battle over 110m, with Hough prevailing in a time of 13.51, with Andrews narrowly behind in 13.59.

  • London 2012 Olympic gold medallist, Jared Tallent retires

The London 2012 Olympic gold medallist in the 50km Race Walk ends an 13-year representative career unrivalled by any other Australian able-bodied male track athlete after winning a total of 15 medals at major events, including four Olympic medals, two Commonwealth Games medals (including one gold), three World Championships medals and six World Race Walking Cup medals. Tallent made history upon his Olympic debut at Beijing 2008 when he completed a rare double by winning medals in both the 20km and 50km walking events. After winning gold at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, he returned to the Olympic arena at London 2012 and won gold again in the 50km had a number of setbacks from an injury to my hamstring, with the latest one putting a halt to my final preparations for the Australian 50km Race Walking Championships this weekend,” Tallent said.

  • 4 Healthy Ways To Increase Your Muscle Mass

Let’s be real, a lot of people go into fitness and exercising in hopes of achieving their dream body – while there is nothing wrong with that, jumping straight into it without any proper knowledge is never a good idea. Finding the niche exercises and the pacing that works for you might seem impossible, but there are a lot of trainers and bodybuilders who are more than willing to share their story, as WorkoutHQ would state that keeping a variety of activities is the best idea at this time. The most natural, and efficient way to see actual results, is to remember that if you burn more calories than you consume, there is no way your muscles can get bigger, you’ll end up losing your body mass in the long run. So even if you are not in the best shape, don’t want to lift additional weights just yet, your best bet would be using your own weight and trying our different yoga poses – possibly while being advised by a professional so you don’t get hurt!

  • World Records, Weekly Schedule, Marathon Tips & More

I have always loved running, whether that be racing on the track, running the road for a marathon, chasing a football growing up, or running after my twin brother. Philo is a big believer in altitude training so we will try to get 2 to 3 camps a year at altitude, whether that be Perisher in the Snowy Mountains, Australia, Flagstaff in the US, or the altitude house at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra. I am very lucky to have great support from Athletics Australia and the Australian Institute of Sport, where at their facilities, I can maximize my recovery with soft tissue and physiotherapy two to three times a week. None Eat a breakfast you have tried out before a long run during your training program, 3 to 4 hours before your start.
