    A First-Timers Experience in Colombia

During my visit to Bogota, I did a four-day tour with the folks from Neotropic Expeditions, a tour operator who handled all of our logistics and provided an exciting adventure trip. The next day we headed back toward Bogota where we took a Cable Car up into the mountains outside the city center. Bogotá is Colombia’s high-altitude capital, it’s a vibrant and diverse city; a bustling metropolis that is a mix of old and new, trendy and traditional. During our bike ride we stopped by some of the cities landmarks, such as the Parque Nacional, the La Macarena bullring and Bogota’s Gold Museum, a must visit sight with an incredible collection of more than 34.000 pieces of authentic pre-Columbian gold.

Why Is the Bernardo Winery in San Diego Such a Secret?

The Rancho Bernardo Winery in San Diego has become one of my favorites in north county and not enough people know about it!Many visit the area to golf, take to the hiking trails or stay at the luxurious Rancho Bernardo Inn for a weekend getaway. It’s too easy to miss!My first happy hour reunion in a year was a rendezvous at the historic Bernardo Winery in San Diego. When the museum reopens, I look forward to stepping up into the Mud Wagon’s driver’s seat to fantasize about driving a team of horses across the county. Location of the Bernardo Winery in San DiegoThe winery is located in North County San Diego, in the town of Rancho Bernardo.

While we were at Cross Ranch State Park, we spent a couple of nights in another yurt, went hiking and fat tire biking on the trails, and ate dinners at nearby restaurants, Crossroads Bar & Grill and Captain’s Cabin Bar and Grill. The multi-use trail is 2.2 miles long (one way) and it connects Harmony Park at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center with Washburn’s Riverside Park.
