Highlights
  • MS Time

Doctor’s office said I had an appointment today at 9AM. I stand my ground despite seeing the appointment card sitting on my dresser clearly marked today. In the past, I was told if I missed another doctor’s exam I would be dropped as a patient. Worst of all, I was embarrassed for lying to the doctor’s office staff.

But when it is bad, it can be crippling bad. I understand it can be very uncomfortable to hear the truth pertaining to living with a chronic debilitating disease. I’m just so afraid the truth will turn people off or appear as constant complaining. know how much a disease like multiple sclerosis affects your life.

Splendid Spoon: Healthy Meal Delivery Review!

I’ve been enjoying meal delivery services since my Multiple Sclerosis related fatigue made it too difficult for me to cook nourishing meals for myself at the end of the day so I’ve tried quite a few. Having healthy nutritious food delivered to me directly has been a life-saver on my high pain days and even on average days, especially now because of the Covid19 Pandemic. With over 50 ready-to-eat meals, you don’t have to stress about meal planning, grocery shopping, or cooking a meal with just five minutes between zoom meetings while working from home. My hope is that our ready-to-eat, plant-based meal plans will help you reconnect to the power of good food, whatever your health goals may be.

    Hello Again

I entered and meandered down an aisle to the medicine pickup section. Satisfied, I grabbed my plastic sack filled with medications and said goodbye. So, she recommended for the next refill I use the direct mail ship to home option for my prescriptions. Men wearing yellow hard hats gathering snacks and drinks from a cooler.

Getting Started with Meditation as a Healthy Coping Tool

You’ve probably heard about the health benefits of yoga in improving mental and physical health, and in improving flexibility. It is much more than sitting and concentrating in a quiet area for a designated amount of time; it involves calming your mind of all thoughts, achieving a deep inward peace, and maintaining attention and alertness in the process. On Your Body Meditation makes the body less responsive to stress hormones, which lowers blood pressure, improves blood circulation, improves digestion and immunity, and establishes emotional and neurological “balance. Stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenalin increase blood pressure and heart rate, while “feel good” chemicals, such as serotonin, (which are released in a state of relaxation), work to repair cells.

  • Eat More Popcorn

I’m sitting on my living room couch. Ready to watch a movie. Lately I appreciate the process of getting ready to watch movies more than actually watching. But I’m also prepared to pretend to understand the movie.

    Crafting With "M.S." Blog Abandonment

In the beginning I was eager to jump right in and write a blog post about anything even my new diagnosis. Opening up about my Multiple Sclerosis gave me an outlet to express my inner thoughts and concerns. After this instead of wallow in self pity I decided to “Buckle Up Buttercup” my husband’s favorite phrase. A tranquil office space similar to the one I fell in love with from Pinterest.

  • Say what you mean, and mean what you say

While I think my parents are incredible people, they are mere mortals, yet somehow they made sure I learned that two wrongs don’t make a right, and jumping off bridges because friends did it are NOT very good behaviors to practice. Seriously?!?!? Because several states/countries that have been experiencing some form of “lockdown” due to Covid-19, are thinking about “reopening” or limiting restrictions that were placed on their citizens this week several people have been attempting to discuss their state or countries decisions. Regardless of the specific question asked, my reply always includes the statement, “I am not afraid of getting the virus, (If it happens it happens) however, PEOPLE AND THEIR ACTIONS are scaring the hell out of me. For the past 5 months, I have had a somewhat different (imo stricter) set of  restrictions placed on myself than most people have in the United States.

  • We Will Parade Again

Has gone, gone, gone. Positioned in a grocery store parking lot. The whole time, hoping I don’t bring Covid-19 back home with the eggs. I wait in the car while my partner takes my grocery list and does the heavy lifting.
